Crafting Orders for Spark Gear
This Guide shows how to place a Crafting Item in WOW using the Crafting Order System for a piece of gear crafted with a Spark and using an Enchanted Weathered Crest (including how to place a Crafting Order for the Enchanted Crest).
The more difficult and/or low quality the materials being used, the harder it is for the Crafter to make the highest Quality (ilvl) item. Things are early, so remember that you can get lower level gear crafted and then later use some extra reagents (but not nearly what the original items cost) to upgrade it later once Crafters have gained more skill.
Recrafting allows you to Empower (Enchanted Crests), Customise Secondary Stats (Missives) and Add Embellishments as well as increase Quality Level for gear that was crafted at a lower quality or without those extras in the first place.
So if you can have something crafted perfectly the first time, great – but if not, all is not lost!
Now on to Getting Crafted Items using Crafted Orders…
How to Have Spark Gear Crafted In WOW: TWW using Crafting Orders
1. Go to the Crafting Orders Area
You can see the Auction House in Dornogol up the stairs to the left
2. Find The Crafting Orders Clerk (Clerk Adran) Inside
Or the guy to the right outside the door.
3. Find Your Target Item
Type Keywords or Name – or Use Categories on the Left – then Click Search
Be Sure to Filter By “Current Expansion Only” if you care.
4. Look At Possible Items
Here Purple are Spark Crafted Gear, Algari is PVP Gear and Blues are ilvl (but still character level 80) gear.
5. Check the Stats for your Item
Notice that the ilvl here is 593 but in Step 4 it says 593-636. This is for the lowest Quality (*) gear. If you are doing a Guild or Personal Order, you can require a Quality Level * to ***** – but you cannot with Public Orders. Ingredients and Ingredient Qualities will affect how easy it is for a Crafter to make Higher Qualities.
For this base item, with no Enchanted Crests/Upgrades:
Quality * = 593
Quality ** = 596
Quality *** = 599
Quality **** = 602
Quality **** = 606
6. These are The Materials You will Need (You provide or Crafter can provide)
Some Materials (Spark, Enchanted Crests, Soulbound Materials), you will be required to provide.
Other Materials Either you or the Crafter Can Provide. If you do not provide materials, be sure to tip enough to make it worth it for the Crafter. The Hammer to the right side of the “Commission” area shows you what other Commissions are – but not necessarily with the same reagents value. Also note the “Reagents Value” here may be way off depending how your game calculates it.
7. Spark Crafted
You can get one half spark every week with an event in game. So you can get 1 spark every 2 weeks.
I believe you need 1 Spark for Armor and 1H Weapons and 2 Sparks for 2H Weapons. Crafters Cannot provide these.
8. Set Reagents
This lists the reagents you need and whether you are providing them or you want the Crafter To Provide them. If reagents are hard to get (ie. you need to farm a specific mob), the crafter may not be able to fulfill your order.
personal note: let me provide the reagents for my Guild until I get maxed out – then we can compromise 🙂
For Items with Quality (* to ***), the higher Quality reagent you provide, the less skill the Crafter needs to make it. Of course, the higher quality reagents are much more expensive – so if you can talk to your crafter about it, discuss first. * and ** Quality Reagents are often similarly priced on the Auction House at this point, so be sure to check.
9. Embellishments – Limit to 2 Items Equipped
You can choose Embellishments to add, but they also make it more difficult for the crafter to make – and you can only have 2 on all of your equipped items.
A * Embellishment will increase the difficulty for the crafter by +25.
A ** Embellishment will increase the difficulty for the crafter by +15.
A *** Embellishment will increase the difficulty for the crafter by +5.
There is no difference between the end product on the item. Again, * and ** qualities are often similarly priced at this point. Various Professions make different Embellishments.
personal note: Discuss with me for any embellishments you want to see if i will be able to make the appropriate quality.
10. Missives to Set Secondary Stats
Missives to Set Secondary Stats are similar to Embellishments in that they make the Recipe more difficult for the crafter based on the Quality of the Missive. You must add them if you want them (the crafter cannot add them). Inscriptionists make Missives.
personal note: Confirm with me what level (probably **) will be required for what resulting ilvl – Crafter Cannot Add These
11. Upgrading with Crests
Enchanted Crests can increase the base ilvl. Here the Quality * would be 623 and the Quality ***** would be 636 if an Enchanted Gilded Harbinger Crest is used on this recipe. Again, using these makes it harder for the Crafter to get the highest Quality.
personal note: My Enchanter can make Enchanted Weathered Harbinger Crests only.
12. Set Your Order Specifics
Personal and Guild orders let you set a minimum quality for an item. Remember that you can place a recrafting order to upgrade it later as well for cheaper than making the original again. PUBLIC orders DO NOT let you choose a minimum quality.
Note To Crafter: If you have anything to say, say it here.
Costs: Be sure to set your commission to something reasonable. Take into consideration the costs of any ingredients you haven’t provided and the value of the crafter’s time and expertise. For public orders, your tip may determine whether or not someone accepts your order. A tip of at least 1s is required to place the order.
Personal Note: for my guild, just do 1s tip please. and 12H Duration, but let me know it’s there!
Duration: 12H Duration is the cheapest posting fee but makes it less likely to be crafted as a public order if it is difficult or not a great tip, or if your person is not around and you haven’t made arrangements they might miss it.
Crafting Orders for Enchanted Crests
EC1. Search for Your Appropriate Crest with the Crafting Orders Clerk
I find this easier than using the side filters. Be sure you choose the right one!
EC2. Check Out What You Need
Look at the Form to See what you need. Things with a checkbox either you or the crafter can provide.
EC3. Collect Your Basic Materials
If you are providing materials, collect what you need. Quality of Materials should not matter here since there is no final quality – a crafter can make it or they can’t.
personal note: I can provide materials for Enchanting Weathered Crests on my Enchanter.
Move to the Next Step for the Nascent Weathered Harbinger Crest.
EC4. Buy Your Nascent Crest using your collected Crests
From the Enchanting Vendor (Llade in the crafting area between the Enchanting Table and the huge pile of pink/purple ?gems ?goo?), use 30 Weathered Harbinger Crests that you collected to buy 1 Nascent Weathered Harbinger Crest.
EC5. Go Back to the Crafting Orders Clerk and Place Your Order
Same basic idea as Step 12 above.
personal note: I can provide materials for Enchanting Weathered Crests on my Enchanter.
Now that you have your Enchanted Crest you can go back to step 11 to finish your order.
